Joe Harrington

Rev. Harrington was raised in Duluth, Georgia. His home church is First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. He graduated from Duluth High School in 1967 and received his BBA degree from the University of Georgia in 1971. After a 26 year career as a Certified Public Accountant, Rev. Harrington received a call into ministry, returned to school and received his Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology/Emory University in 1999. He was ordained as a deacon and became a probationary member of the North Georgia Conference in that year. He was received into full connection and ordained elder in 2003. He is currently working toward a Doctor of Ministry degree at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Rev. Harrington has served on the staff of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and as pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church at Between and Big Springs United Methodist Church before coming to Mount Zion in June 2005.
Rev. Harrington and his wife Faye have been married since 1970. They have two married sons and four grandchildren, one of them, Amber, lives with them.
